Dans mon tableau de bord D6, j'ai ces messages :
GD Image Filtering Low Quality / Poor Performance
The installed version of PHP GD does not support image filtering(desaturate, blur, negate, etc). It was probably compiled using the official GD libraries from http://www.libgd.org instead of the GD library bundled with PHP. You should recompile PHP --with-gd using the bundled GD library. See http://www.php.net/manual/en/image.setup.php. An implementation of imagefilter in PHP will be used in the interim.

Quoi faire pour m'en débarrasser, sachant que je suis sous Ubuntu serveur (Jaunty).

La librairie GD implémenté sous Ubuntu est en effet très restrictive. Il faudrait faire un ticket auprès d'eux. Tu peux envisager de recompiler PHP ou encore installer php5-imagick et te passer de GD. Je n'ai pas encore testé pour ma part mais je vais tenter ça car j'ai le même soucis que toi.

J'ai rencontré le même problème, et j'ai installé php5-imagick comme l'a proposé @bricef
Et j'ai désactivé ImageAPI GD2 pour activer ImageAPI ImageMagick
Ce qui contourne mon problème ;)
